When Insight Isn’t Enough—Create Real Change

Many of the people who find their way to me have carried a quiet, persistent ache for years—a feeling of “I’m broken,” or “something is wrong with me,” even though they’ve spent most of their lives pushing through, staying strong, and holding more than anyone around them ever realized. If you’re a millennial, a creative, a sensitive nervous system, or someone who has navigated the world with heaviness or hypervigilance, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to carry it alone.

I’m Nick Duran, LMHC, a queer, Mexican American therapist offering online therapy for adults and couples across Washington State. My work centers millennial adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, and those seeking a deeper, more connected form of healing. Whether you’re navigating the impact of trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or an overwhelming life transition, I offer a place to land—a grounded, compassionate space where your experience is honored and your pace always leads the work.

My approach is integrative, trauma-focused, and body-centered, blending EMDR therapy, somatic therapy, mindfulness, breathwork, gentle movement, expressive arts, and person-centered care. This allows us to explore not just what happened to you, but how it lives in your body, your relationships, and your sense of self. Together, we slow down, listen inward, and make room for clarity, steadiness, and self-trust to grow. Many clients describe therapy with me as gentle, steady, collaborative, and deeply affirming.

I believe you are the expert of your own lived experience. My role is not to push or rush your healing, but to walk alongside you—to support you in understanding the origins of your pain, tending to what still hurts, and gently loosening the patterns that no longer serve you. This work can bring relief, yes, but also a deeper sense of belonging within your own body and life.

One of the most meaningful parts of my work is witnessing the shift from “I’m broken” to “I’m worthy just as I am.” Not because everything is perfect or fixed, but because you finally feel safe enough to take up space, to breathe more fully, and to trust your own inner wisdom again.

If you’re looking for EMDR therapy, somatic therapy, trauma therapy, or LGBTQ-affirming counseling—or if you simply want a place where you can be real, soft, overwhelmed, hopeful, grieving, or just tired—I’m here. Healing is possible. And you don’t have to do it alone.

Testimonials

“Nick is the best therapist I have ever seen. He so knowledgeable and understanding and helped me through some really difficult trauma work which has changed my whole experience in college and enabled me to completely dedicate to and enjoy my MFA. He is absolutely nonjudgmental and creates a calm and centered environment where I am able to carry on with the rest of my day. Each time I visit I learn something new that helps me in moving forward with my life. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone I meet.”
